How many lessons will I need?
The number of lessons you will need depends upon your needs and desires, your general condition, and your willingness to apply what you learn in the lessons. For students new to the Technique it is highly recommended to take two lessons per week for a five-week period in order to establish a firm foundation in the principles and application of the work. After about ten lessons most students have a fairly clear idea of how the Technique can help them, and usually notice improvement in their use and condition. Many students continue to take one lesson per week as part of a routine for maintaining health and well-being. Other students find that their needs are met after a series of ten lessons. There are no limits to how far the Alexander Technique can be applied to life; it can be thought of as a lifelong discipline, or as an approach to remedy a specific problem.
